The Treatment

What Is Microblading?

Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that uses a handheld tool with tiny needles to deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin in fine, hair-like strokes. The result mimics natural eyebrow hairs for a fuller, more defined brow shape. Powder brows (also called ombre brows) use a digital machine to create a soft, shaded, makeup-like fill, while Combination Brows blend both techniques for a natural yet defined result. All options include a detailed consultation, brow mapping, numbing, the initial session, and one complimentary touch-up 6–8 weeks later.

  • Hand-tool, hair-like strokes for a natural finish (Microblading)
  • Machine-shaded, soft "filled-in" look — ideal for oily or mature skin (Powder Brows)
  • Combination Brows blend both for the most natural yet defined result
  • Custom brow mapping based on your bone structure, face shape & symmetry
  • Includes a complimentary touch-up 6–8 weeks later to perfect color and shape
Why Clients Love It

The Benefits of Microblading & Powder Brows

Whether you're filling in sparse areas, redefining your natural arch, or replacing your daily brow makeup routine entirely, microblading and powder brows offer a customizable solution designed entirely around your features and lifestyle.

  • Fuller, more defined brows — fine strokes or soft shading fill in sparse areas and add shape
  • Customized to your skin type — microblading for normal/dry skin, powder brows for oily or mature skin
  • Improved symmetry — detailed brow mapping balances both brows to complement your face shape
  • Long-lasting results — enjoy beautifully shaped brows for 1–3 years with minimal upkeep
  • Wake up ready — skip the daily brow pencil or powder; your brows look polished from the moment you wake up
  • Hypoallergenic, medical-grade pigment — formulated specifically for cosmetic tattooing, with patch testing available
Candidacy

Who Is a Good Candidate for Microblading?

During your complimentary consultation, your Beauty Enhancements specialist will assess your skin type, brow goals, and medical history to recommend the best technique — microblading, powder brows, or a combination — for your features.

  • Sparse, over-plucked, or uneven natural brows
  • Normal to dry skin (great fit for microblading's crisp hair strokes)
  • Oily or mature skin (powder brows hold and heal more evenly)
  • Busy lifestyles wanting to skip daily brow makeup
  • Clients with existing brow tattoos may be candidates after a consultation to assess color and saturation
  • Not recommended if pregnant or breastfeeding
  • Active skin conditions in the brow area (eczema, psoriasis, active acne) should be resolved first
  • Not recommended for clients with a history of keloid scarring, on blood thinners, or with uncontrolled diabetes
  • Recent Botox in the area requires a 2–4 week waiting period before treatment

The Process

Your Brow Treatment, Step by Step

01
Consultation
We discuss your goals, assess your skin type, and review your medical history to recommend the best technique — microblading, powder brows, or combination — for your features.
02
Brow Mapping
Using measuring tools, your provider maps your natural brow bone, face shape, and symmetry. You approve the shape with a brow pencil before any pigment is applied — your input is central to the process.
03
Pigment Selection
Medical-grade, hypoallergenic pigment is selected to complement your natural hair color and skin tone. A patch test is available for clients with sensitive skin or known allergies.
04
The Procedure
Topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure. Pigment is then deposited using hand strokes (microblading), machine shading (powder brows), or both. The initial appointment takes 2–2.5 hours.
05
Healing
Brows will appear bold and dark initially and soften over the following weeks as your skin heals. Detailed aftercare instructions are provided to support pigment retention.
06
Complimentary Follow-Up
A follow-up appointment 6–8 weeks later (approx. 1–1.5 hours) corrects any uneven fading, perfects the shape, and ensures symmetry — included in your initial price.
Preparation & Recovery

Healing & Aftercare

To support the best possible results, avoid alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen for 24–48 hours before your appointment. A patch test can be arranged 24–48 hours prior for clients with sensitive skin.

After your session, keep brows dry for the first 7–10 days (no sweating, swimming, or direct water on the area), apply the provided aftercare ointment as instructed, and avoid sun exposure, makeup on the brow area, and exfoliating products (retinol, AHA, BHA) on the brows for at least 2–4 weeks. Do not pick at any scabbing.

Days 1–3
Brows appear bold and dark — this is completely normal.
Days 4–7
Light scabbing and flaking occurs as the skin heals — avoid picking.
Days 7–14
Color may appear lighter (the "ghosting" phase) as skin heals over the pigment.
Weeks 4–6
True color emerges — the touch-up perfects the final result.
Results

Results, Longevity & Touch-Up Schedule

Healed microblading and powder brow results reveal fuller, beautifully shaped brows that frame your face and complement your natural features — with the freedom to skip your daily brow routine entirely.

  • Initial results: a complimentary touch-up 6–8 weeks after your first session corrects uneven fading and perfects shape and symmetry
  • Expected longevity: results typically last 1–3 years depending on skin type — oily skin tends to fade faster (12–18 months), while dry skin holds pigment longer (2–3 years)
  • Annual maintenance: a Color Boost / Refresh at the 12–18 month mark is recommended to maintain results
  • Extended touch-ups: if more time has passed since your included touch-up window, an additional session can restore full saturation and shape

FAQ

Common Questions

What is microblading?
Microblading is a semi-permanent cosmetic tattooing technique that uses a handheld tool with tiny needles to deposit pigment into the upper layers of the skin in fine, hair-like strokes. The result mimics natural eyebrow hairs for a fuller, more defined brow shape. Results typically last 1–3 years depending on skin type and aftercare.
What is the difference between microblading and powder brows?
Microblading creates fine, hair-like strokes using a manual hand tool — best for normal to dry skin and a natural look. Powder brows (also called ombre brows) use a digital machine to create a soft, shaded, makeup-like fill — best for oily skin, mature skin, or clients wanting a more defined, filled-in look. Combination Brows blend both techniques for the most natural yet defined result.
How long does microblading last?
Results typically last 1–3 years depending on skin type, sun exposure, skincare routine (especially retinol and acids, which fade pigment faster), and lifestyle. Oily skin tends to fade faster (12–18 months) while dry skin holds pigment longer (2–3 years). A color boost session is recommended at the 12–18 month mark to maintain results.
Does microblading hurt?
A topical numbing cream is applied before and during the procedure, so most clients describe the sensation as mild pressure, light scratching, or a vibrating feeling rather than pain. Sensitivity varies by individual and time of month — some clients report more sensitivity close to their menstrual cycle.
How long does the microblading appointment take?
The initial appointment takes 2–2.5 hours, including consultation, brow mapping, numbing, and the procedure itself. The touch-up appointment 6–8 weeks later takes approximately 1–1.5 hours.
How much does microblading cost at Bella Rejuvenation?
Microblading is $575, Powder / Ombre Brows are $595, and Combination Brows are $650. Each price includes the initial session, a complimentary touch-up within 6–8 weeks, numbing, and an aftercare kit.
Why is the touch-up included and necessary?
The touch-up session is essential, not optional. The first session establishes the shape and initial pigment, but skin retains pigment differently in different areas. The touch-up 6–8 weeks later corrects any uneven fading, perfects the shape, and ensures symmetry. Skipping it can result in patchy, uneven brows long-term.
What if I need a touch-up later than 8 weeks?
If you need an additional touch-up between 8 weeks and 6 months after your original appointment, the rate is $150. After 12–18 months, brows naturally fade and a Color Boost / Refresh session ($250) is recommended to maintain your results.
How is my brow shape determined?
Your provider performs a detailed brow mapping consultation using measuring tools to map your natural brow bone, face shape, and symmetry. You approve the shape with a brow pencil before any pigment is applied — your input and preferences are central to the process.
What pigments are used and are they safe?
Bella Rejuvenation uses medical-grade, hypoallergenic pigment formulated specifically for cosmetic tattooing. A patch test can be performed prior to the appointment for clients with sensitive skin or known allergies.
What does the microblading healing process look like?
Days 1–3, brows appear bold and dark — this is normal. Days 4–7, light scabbing and flaking occurs as the skin heals; do not pick at it. Days 7–14, color may appear lighter (the "ghosting" phase) as the skin heals over the pigment. By weeks 4–6, true color emerges, and the touch-up at 6–8 weeks perfects the final result.
What aftercare is required after microblading?
Keep brows dry for the first 7–10 days (no sweating, swimming, or direct water on the area). Apply the provided aftercare ointment as instructed. Avoid sun exposure, makeup on the brow area, and any exfoliating products (retinol, AHA, BHA) on the brows for at least 2–4 weeks. Do not pick at scabbing.
Who should not get microblading?
Microblading is not recommended for clients who are pregnant or breastfeeding, have active skin conditions (eczema, psoriasis, or active acne) in the brow area, have a history of keloid scarring, are on blood thinners, have uncontrolled diabetes, or have had recent Botox in the area (wait 2–4 weeks).
Can I still get microblading if I have existing brow tattoos?
It depends on the condition, color, and saturation of the existing work. A consultation is required to assess whether new pigment can be applied directly over old work or whether removal or lightening is needed first. Color correction may be an additional service.
How do I book my microblading appointment in Lake Elsinore?
You can call our office, book online, or message us to schedule your free consultation. A patch test can be arranged 24–48 hours prior for clients with sensitive skin. We recommend avoiding alcohol, caffeine, and blood-thinning medications such as aspirin or ibuprofen for 24–48 hours before your appointment to minimize bleeding and improve pigment retention.
